This iron fits the Qiangsheng Luban No. 4 and No. 5 handplanes.
It is 3mm thick. This, paired with the heftiness of the Qiangsheng Luban planes, helps reduce chatter and makes planning easier than with other planes.
Furthermore, the high carbon steel of which the irons are made means the blades get a truly sharp edge that is difficult to get with most other steels.
