Woodworking chisels vary from small hand tools for very detailed work to massive ones used to remove large chunks of wood.

They also come in different designs, from the firmer chisels with their thick rectangular section blade through to the slimmer bevel-edge and pairing chisels for detailed cabinet-making, to the splendid Damascus Japanese chisel with their characteristic pattern on the upper face and their hollow ground base.

Regardless of design, chisels of various types are invariable found in the woodworkers toolbox.
